Primary Function: The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for managing all aspects of patient preparation and supervision for Pinnacle Vein and Vascular Center. He/she will be expected to perform, as well as assist physicians in the completion of relevant paperwork, and patient follow-up.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assesses patient health by interview and by obtaining and/or updating medical history
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
- Performs physical examinations and provides treatment and counsel
- Recognizes and evaluates patients who require the immediate attention of a physician and, when necessary, initiates emergency medical treatment without supervision
- Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and laboratory studies
- Follows-up on x-rays and laboratory data
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing, post-operative care and management of wound care and infections
- Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
- Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions
- Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient EMR and/or department records
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential and adhering to HIPPA
- Record and analyze patient medical histories, symptoms, and conditions
Requirements:
- Current ACLS/BLS
- Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner training program
- Current licensure as a registered nurse practitioner
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Active DEA License
