Food with large quantities of low density lipoproteins (bad cholesterol) is one of the major causes of poor circulation in people today. Other causes of poor blood circulation are; peripheral artery disease, smoking, diabetes, some diseases, etc.
The common signs and symptoms of poor blood circulation are:
1) Cold extremities(hands and feet)
2) Fatigue
3) Pale skin
4) Poor and short duration concentration
5) Edema in legs – or bulging, burning or tingling veins
6) Pain while walking
Something you can do at home to help poor circulation is eating foods that improve blood circulation. Especially one of our favorites…
Enter – Pomegranate!
This juicy fruit, from the shrub called Punica granatum, is a tasty one! The juice contains numerous anti-oxidants, the punicalagins. The juice has been proven to be very effective since it supports your body’s vital vitamin intake (B complex, C and K). The juice has anti-inflammatory properties and this allows for a better and more efficient flow of blood to all body parts. It works awesome in athletes who need intensified flow of blood to their muscles.
So next time you go to the store try out some pure pomegranate juice or pick up a package of seeds and treat yourself!
