Staying Active During Covid-19 Quarantine Can Help Lower Your Blood Pressure

Staying active with resistance training will lower your blood pressure systolic and diastolic points. You can swim 3 times a week for 30 minutes, take a brisk walk, lift weights, and much more. The key to successfully lowering your blood pressure is to do these activities 3 to 4 times a week to keep your levels maintained. Exercise only lowers your blood pressure for up to 2 days.

Physical activity on a regular basis will burn tons of calories forcing your body to shed those unwanted pounds. Weight loss is a successful way for those who are overweight to lower their blood pressure.

Do you enjoy working out indoors? Many people find themselves working out at home more and more. It could be due to feeling safer at home, having no babysitter for the children, harsh weather elements, and more. If you have your own workout equipment, then keeping up your cardio will not be an issue. If you do not have any equipment to use, then it could be a challenge to get motivated.

What exercises can be done with no equipment?

♦ Aerobics or Dancing – with or without instruction

The constant movement of the muscles will keep your heart rate high enough to burn calories. That is why you can dance and lose weight just as fast as if you were doing other cardio activities. Crunches, sit-ups, push-ups, jumping jacks, squats, lunges, and any more exercises like these will work perfectly.

♦ Yoga or Mat Pilates

You could purchase some cheap equipment such as dumbells, resistance bands, and a step to assist you in your workout. If you do not want to spend any money, you could use a can of veggies or something like that weight a little weight to it. Your at-home products will work just as good as the ones you can purchase.

♦ Online Zumba or Other Classes

If you are not the type to exercise on your own or you like the connection of being in a class, you have options. You can enter virtual fitness classes to do at home. If you do not have any equipment, just find a class that requires none. There are plenty of options available.

♦ Take breaks from sitting for long periods.

Staying at home will have you playing on your devices more, watching tv, reading, cooking, and eating. It is important to remember that you have to make positive choices regarding your physical activity and your eating habits. If you have been sitting for a while get up and move around or do some light exercises before sitting again.

♦ Walk around the house while you work.

When you are at the office, you have to walk around for different things. If you have to take a lot of phone calls, then you could take them while walking around the house. Any constant movement is going to benefit you.

It is extremely important to keep yourself healthy during the Covid-19 pandemic. Keeping yourself active is the best way to lower your blood pressure. The virus has made us change our daily routines dramatically. If you have kids, it would be a great idea to try and incorporate an exercise routine for them as well. Whether it is with you or not, staying at home all the time can have a negative effect on everyone in the home.
