Pack Snacks This Holiday for Vein Health
Something you may not think of…
Pack snacks wherever you go!!
Indulging is clearly a big thing during the holidays. We always tend to over indulge in treats we don’t see or get to eat throughout the year. And while that may make our mouths happy, it can really cause a host of issues. And, it’s ok to eat some extra treats during the holidays, but the key is not to over do it and causing problems.
Weight gain is typically one of the biggest problems we see with the holidays. And if you are already overweight, this can compound quickly and so can the circulation issue. It’s common to see 5 pounds of more get packed on during the holidays!
Fact: Being overweight is one of the leading causes of vein issues
How do we tackle this? Saying no to all the office desserts is not always an easy feat.
Well first, we can make those cravings less frequent. We can do that by upping your protein intake over the next few weeks so you are left feeling more full and satisfied. Protein can help curb those sugar and carb cravings.
Snacks you can carry:
- Cheese
- Nuts
- Jerky
- Trail mix
- Hard boiled eggs
- Hummus and veggies
- Peanut butter and apple
- Protein bar
So the next time you are craving those desserts or treats, reach for your snack bag and eat your snack. Wait about 15 minutes and see your craving disappear!
